The Pennell Group was founded by a former mid-market CIO who became increasingly frustrated with the poor range of options for finding a strategic IT services’ business partner. The major service providers were only interested if the annual project commitment was going to exceed ~$5M and the smaller mid-market and local consulting companies lacked the depth of management and IT expertise that was required to address the full needs of the business.

Mr. Penny concluded that there was a gap in the market for a new company to focus on the selected needs of mid-market companies by providing the very best consultants and best practices focused on a few key areas.

In addition, the traditional consulting business model - where the consultants get paid whatever the outcome - lacks the strategic business alignment which today’s companies are looking for. With the Riskshare™ model, The Pennell Group provides a strong financial incentive for mutually successful outcomes in all customer engagements.

Finally, our premier consultants are among the best in their field and view our customer relationships as strategic investments. Because of this, we are selective about who we work with which is critical when we use our Riskshare™ model as we become financially invested in the engagement outcome with our customers.

Todd Penny Biography

Todd Penny, founder of the The Pennell Group was previously CIO & SVP at Long Term Care Group in Minnesota. Mr. Penny has more than 20 years of IT experience in the insurance, airline, consulting and financial services industries, he brings in-depth expertise and knowledge to his client engagements.

Prior to joining LTCG Mr. Penny was responsible for managing IT Operations and Software Development for TSYS iSolutions, a Commercial Credit Card Processor. He also gained senior management experience working in a national consulting company and was a nine-year veteran with Travelport.

Mr. Penny was awarded a first-class honors degree in Physics from the University of London and an MBA from Regis University.  Mr Penny is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and holds the ITIL Best Practices Certification for IT Service Management.
